Chaelim challenges the formation of scientific knowledge and evidence through varieties of materials surrounding disaster dialogue.
"I am interested in disasters. What is defined as a disaster? How is the evidence of a disaster made? Who can intervene in determining the direction of disaster investigation? I believe that disasters are constructed. Depending on what is defined as a disaster and how and by whom a disaster is investigated, social resources are concentrated on specific areas/communities/bodies. Therefore, it is critical to intervene in the construction of a disaster. Since the resources of the Earth are limited, resources should be directed precisely to the bodies that need them. I want to practice art that expands the political space for participation in the construction of disasters. By doing so, I aim to mediate the connections necessary for specific bodies."
