Peptide chemistry, amyloids, rippled beta sheets, materials, hydrogels, neurotoxicity, animal models of Alzheimer's Disease
The Raskatov lab is credited with validating the "rippled" beta-sheet, hypothesized by Linus Pauling and Robert Corey. From 2022 onwards we were able to build a comprehensive structural foundation for this unique structural class. We are becoming increasingly interested infunction. A vast range of applications, ranging from biomolecular targeting of amyloids to materials tailored for delayed drug release, molecular light harvesting scaffolds, catalytic nanoparticles and textiles.

The lab is currently funded through an NIH R01 and a private donation of the Seaver Institute.
For his pioneering work on amyloids and rippled beta-sheets Dr. Raskatov was awarded the Young Investigator Award of the Boulder Peptide Society in 2018 and the Early Career Lectureship of the American Peptide Society in 2019
