Prof. Yanik's research focuses on Circulating Tumor Cell (CTC) detection from human blood using nano-fluidic platforms for cancer diagnostics. His research interests includes nanoplasmonic and metamaterial devices for ultrasensitive infrared/terahertz spectroscopy of biomolecules/chemicals and high-throughput, cost effective, BioNEMS technologies for life sciences and point-of-care diagnostics. I obtained my B.S. in Physics with Honors at Stanford University in 1988 and my Ph.D. in Physics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 1992, where I studied the phase transition properties of antiferromagnetic superlattices grown via MBE under the supervision of Prof. Vince Jaccarino.
