I received my BA in Classics from UCSC in 1980 and my Ph.D. in Classics from Brown University in 1987. I have taught at UCSC since 1989 where I am Professor of Classics and Literature. Allan Langdale specializes in the art and architecture of the eastern Mediterranean, including Italy, Turkey, and Cyprus. Allan received his PhD in Italian Renaissance art history and the historiography of art history from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
